I caught opening night between North Kansas City and Park Hill last Tuesday. Both teams showed signs of having successful seasons. NKC will pick up where they left off as one of the contenders and top teams in KC. They lost an important piece in Avian Webb put picked up a formidable replacement in Kam Tate from Lincoln (last year). They have all the pieces in size, skill, toughness and experience and I expect them to continue to get better as the season progresses. Not to mention being led by a legendary coach. Park Hill is reloading with some talented young players that didn’t see a lot of action last year with the senior-dominated squad they had. But they are not short of talent. I don’t suspect a lot of teams will want to face Park Hill come January and February.
