As a scout, you will be responsible for identifying and covering high school and grassroots basketball prospects during both the high school and AAU seasons. We are offering both full-time and part-time positions nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Player Coverage:

  • Write insightful articles and create engaging social media content to cover high school basketball players.

  • Maintain an organized player database, ensuring comprehensive coverage of recruitable athletes from Freshman to Senior levels.

• Relationship Building:

  • Establish and foster positive relationships with athletes, parents, high school coaches, AAU coaches/Directors, and College coaches in your designated state or region.

• Event Attendance:

  • Attend and cover in-person basketball events within your state to stay updated on the latest talent.

  • Provide regular reports and updates on notable players, performances, and emerging prospects.

• Recruiting Support:

  • Assist players in the recruiting process by leveraging your relationships, evaluations, and comprehensive coverage.

• AAU Season Coverage:

  • Attend and cover PRO16 and NXT girls’ and boys’ events during the Spring and Summer AAU season.

  • Generate written articles, social media updates, and maintain a detailed player database to enhance coverage.

Qualifications:

As the official circuit of PUMA, this will be an exciting opportunity to watch and provide analysis on some of the top high school prospects across the country. Scouts will be responsible for covering games on social media, providing analysis in articles, and developing relationships with teams and players. Positions are available across the country and with flexibility in time commitment. This can be a paid internship opportunity. 

Role 

• Provide coverage for players at PRO16/NXT Events through writing articles, social media, and maintaining a player database.

• Continue developing website content during and after NXT/PRO16 events.

• Develop and maintain good relationships with athletes, parents, high school coaches, AAU coaches/Directors, college coaches, and team members at events.

•  Be an asset to players in the recruiting process through relationships, evaluation, and coverage. 

• Attend and cover a minimum of 3 PRO16 and NXT girls and boys events during the Spring and Summer AAU season through writing articles, providing social media updates, and maintaining a player database.
