Marshall County Hoopfest: Best 2026 Guards
BY:Justin Matcham

Carlos Medlock Jr. | Link Academy | 2026 | Guard | 6’0

Medlock got off to a quick offensive start with two early threes, but he made his presence felt throughout the majority of the game with his defensive pressure and his ability to put pressure on the rim. A strong driver who is comfortable playing through contact and maintaining balance, he consistently got to the free throw line and made plays as a passer when defenders collapsed onto him. Served as the engine of Link’s offense, which is looking to be amongst the best in the country. Committed to Michigan State.

Anthony Felesi | Utah Prep | 2026 | Guard | 6’5

Felesi’s athletic tools were on full display throughout the weekend. He was at his best in transition, beating defenders down the floor and working through traffic for finishes above the rim. Was difficult to stop in the halfcourt as well, he has an explosive first step and great footwork in the paint, got by defenders with step-throughs to get right to the rim. Made an impact with his activity on the offensive glass and got a couple of pullup jumpers to fall. Committed to Pitt.

Kingston Whitty | Christ School | 2026 | Guard | 6’2

Whitty put out a strong all-around performance as a lead guard, consistently getting downhill as a driver and making plays as both a scorer and passer. Has a strong handle and a strong frame that allowed him to absorb contact, shifted gears to get defenders off balance and both got to the free throw line and finished with touch over bigger defenders. Got a few perimeter looks to go down as well. Committed to West Virginia.

Korie Corbett | Oak Hill | 2026 | Guard | 6’3

Oak Hill’s front line with Corbett, LJ Smith, and Ethan Mgbako is one of the strongest you’ll find, and with it Corbett’s ability to put pressure on the rim, it opened up opportunities for everyone else in the offense to take off. Loved his aggression as a driver, got downhill and showcased both his touch on a floater and his ability to hang in the air for tough finishes. Proved to be capable of scoring from the perimeter as well, and was able to set up his defender on a backdoor cut for an easy one at the basket.

KJ Johnson | Warren Central | 2026 | Guard | 5’7

Johnson’s offensive showing was one of the more surprising standout performances of the day, as he was able to find ways to be effective on the floor consistently despite his size. A deep range shooter, I loved his activity moving without the ball, constantly running off of screens or filling into open space. He has a quick release off the catch and was comfortable getting to his shot off the dribble. Forced turnovers at the point of attack as well with his energy and physicality.
