NXT Session 2: Notable 2024s and 2025s from OKC
BY:Trey Sterner

Over the weekend I was able to catch quite a few prospects from the Class of 2024 and 2025. Having already gone over quite a lot of them in my last few articles, here are a few more ’24 and ’25 prospects I wanted to highlight from the second and third day in OKC.

2024s

Kamsi Ikegbunam | EAD Black National 2024 | 6’4 F/C

Kamsi was such a difficult player to stop on the interior for EAD Black on the weekend. Specifically against the NTX Raptors, he displayed his explosiveness on the low block utilizing his broad build, strong body and athleticism at the rim. Truly a matchup nightmare down low, he can beat you with power or finesse as a 6-foot-4 forward/center, but most of the time it is power. Also not afraid to take defenders off the dribble, a little slow but once again, his strength helps him maintain a controlled handle to prevent turnovers. Defensively, he’s mobile around the rim and covers great space in little time.

Matthew Alexander | EAD Black National 2024 | 6’0 G

Alexander appeared as a very important slasher and finisher at the rim over the weekend. Quick, stable handle and a reliable as a finisher. Strong-bodied guard who excels at drawing contact near the cup and is also solid in the midrange with a high release point. Really liked to see the body control he held at the rim against bigger guys, he maintained a high motor and also showed his ability as a perimeter defender against quick ball handlers.

Marco Smith | HoopLife 2024 NXT | 6’6 F

Smith’s length and fluidity as a scorer was looking polished this weekend. Against some top defensive talent in OKC, he impacted the game through points in transition, scoring off the dribble and perimeter and interior defense. Fluid shot creator off the dribble, not the fastest first step but his length and hesitations are able to earn him a little more space in the midrange. Also a solid spot up, off the catch shooter. One motion release and is difficult to affect as a defender due to Smith’s height.

2025s

Brady Hurla | SSA Hoops 2025 NXT White | 5’11 G

Hurla was a fundamentally sound guard out of SSA White on the weekend. Intelligent, low-risk, valuable playmaker and efficient scorer. Defensively he was a problem too, forcing many turnovers and constantly applying pressure on the lead guard and surrounding ball handlers. He ran the PnR very well offensively, navigating through lanes and picking his spots at the rim for scores while also having the ability to make accurate dump off passes. Efficient, smooth shooter from outside as well. Can ease into his shot off the dribble or sink it spotting up. Very fun guard to watch in OKC.

Tyshaun Clark | Team Huncho 757 NXT 2025 |  6’0 G

Clark impressed as a scorer in the game I was able to see of Team Huncho. Long-armed guard who excels in attacking out of the triple threat. Despite his slight build, he’s still able to absorb contact and muscle his way inside through finding angles and attacking off-balanced defenders. Loved the fluidity as a ball handler, as I saw him create a few pretty difficult on-the-go combination moves that got him to the rim, one ending in a beautiful dump off to his teammate for the score.

Deonte Richardson | Team Huncho 757 NXT 2025 | 6’0 G

Richardson displayed himself as a very useful guard in OKC. Very solid positional rebounder. Broad, has a strong base, utilizes this as a grounded defender who is hard to put off balance. Love his tenacity and effort at guard, willing to defend hard and crash the boards in the same way. Not the flashiest offensive playmaker as he defers respsonsibilites to others, but he knows how to play his role and maximize his production.
