Kurja Crosby | 5’3″ | PG/SG | Untamed 17U

Kurja Crosby was the steady presence that kept Untamed’s offense under control throughout the weekend. She played with a calm demeanor and great feel for the game, never looking rushed while consistently making the right decision with the ball. Crosby’s speedy first step and strong ball handling allowed her to break down defenders and create easy scoring opportunities for her athletic teammates. She was able to do this while still being capable of creating her own offense. What stood out most was her ability to control the pace of the game and keep Untamed organized, bringing a very level headed approach every time she stepped on the floor.

Zaniya Johnson | 6’4″ | C/F | Untamed 17U

Zaniya Johnson was one of the most dominant post players I watched at the PRO16 tournament. As a 6’4″ center, she consistently scored in the paint. She used her size to establish position, finish through contact, and convert on the overhead interior pass with ease. Johnson was a huge offensive contributor for Untamed, piling up points while controlling the paint and protecting it by disrupting drives with her length. Around the rim, she was extremely difficult to stop and proved to be one of the top centers at the event. While she was highly effective inside, I did not see much of her skill outside the paint. I would like to see more of her game away from the interior, as most of her offensive production came in the paint.

KieAundria Acree | 6’1″ | G/W | Untamed 17U

Kieaundria Acree was one of the best athletes I was in the presence of at the PRO16 tournament in Orlando. Acree has a long wingspan that allows her to impact the game on both ends of the floor, regularly taking on the on the challenge of guarding the opposing team’s top wing. Offensively, she was at her best attacking the basket, utilizing her athleticism to get downhill and finish while being a strong knock down shooter. There were times she found herself in early foul trouble, allowing her emotions to affect her physicality on defense, but her talent was undeniable. If she can continue to channel that energy, Acree has all the tools to be a dominant two way player.

Rileigh Good | 5’6″ | PG/SG | Player First 17U

Good’s biggest strength throughout the weekend was her ability to impact the game without forcing the action. She established herself as one of the better shooters at the event, but I was equally impressed by her passing and decision making. While she’s listed as a combo guard, I think her future is at the PG position, where she can control the offense, create quality looks for her teammates, and still make opponents pay from beyond the arc. She already has the tools to run a team, and as her isolation shot creation continues to develop, her overall game will become even more dangerous.

Casey Chavez | 2028 | 5’7″ | PG/G | Player First Elite

Casey Chavez’s scoring ability immediately stood to me as she took the floor. She looked comfortable creating offense having a casual pull-up game and the ability to heat up quickly from the perimeter. Although she’s capable of making the extra pass, I thought she was at her best playing off the ball, where she could focus on finding scoring opportunities within Player First Elite’s offense. She has a pretty natural feel for getting to her spots and plays with the confidence of a scorer. I would also say she could be more decisive with her shot taking, she had some forced errors when it came to shot selection. She is definitely developing on the defensive end will only add to an already impressive offensive skill set.
