A huge weekend that featured a lot of talent from FBC West Coasts Program at the PRO16 Finals in Orlando. FBCs 17U team stood out throughout the entire tournament as they displayed a very deep roster and an ability to take over any matchup that came their way this weekend. After watching their first game on Friday, it was clear how much this team had to offer going into tournament play and that they could be a real contender. Along with the 17U championship team, there were a few upcoming athletes in the 16U program also worth noting.

17U | 5’7″ | G | Armanyie “Buddah” Reed | FBC West Coast

Armanyie “Buddah” Reed saved one of her best performances for the championship game, stepping up offensively when FBC West Coast needed her most. Throughout the weekend, I saw Reed comfortably play both PG and SG spots, using her speed and athleticism to consistently put pressure on opposing defenses. Every game I saw of hers she seemingly impressed me more and more. As a shifty ball handler, she creates separation well and has no problem getting downhill to finish at the rim. Her ability to rise to the moment in the championship game really stood out. She took on a larger scoring role and helped lead FBC West Coast to the 17U championship.

17U |Dani Robinson | 5’10” | G | FBC West Coast

Dani Robinson was a key in this Championship run. She proved herself as a true three-level scorer, with her outside shooting looking very promising. Robinson hit three-pointers with confidence, consistently creating quality looks by reading the defense and making smart decisions. She was also one of the most vocal leaders on the floor, constantly communicating to keep her team organized on both ends. Her best defensive performance came in the championship game, where she fearlessly took on the challenge of guarding Deandra Minor, seemingly the best talent in the tournament. Robinson’s defensive effort helped limit Minor and played a major role in FBC West Coast securing the title.

17U |Sydney Douglas | 2027 | 6’7″ | F | FBC West Coast

On first watch, I wasn’t fully convinced by Sydney Douglas. At times she seemed a little too timid, and I felt she had another level of physicality she could play with. As the weekend went on, it became clear that the role she embraced fit FBC West Coast perfectly. At 6’7″, Douglas was highly effective operating in the post and high post, consistently reading the defense and making good decisions. If defenders sagged off, she confidently turn and knocked down the elbow jumper, while also displaying she can finish around the rim with ease. She’s not the strongest ball handler, but she can still push the ball coast-to-coast when the opportunity arises. Her jump shot and outside shooting impressed me most for a player her size, as she showed glimpses of three point shooting skills and was very comfortable and consistent at the free-throw line. Douglas is definitely someone to lookout for and has all the tools to develop a lot at the next level.

17U | Talithakoum Poialii-Hunkin | 2027 | 6’0″ | F | FBC West Coast

Talithakoum Poialii-Hunkin quietly put together one of the more impactful weekends for FBC West Coast. Playing the 3/4, she stretched the floor with a consistent outside shot while embracing the dirty work that helped propel her team to take leads. I saw her matchup well with larger opponents, fight for rebounds, and make important plays that don’t always displayed in the box score. Offensively, she moves well without the ball and was really great taking advantage of transition opportunities before the defense could get set. While her teammates may have outshined her slightly, I believe Hunkin should not go unnoticed. She is a talent with a much more polished game then what the eye test shows.

16U | Amiya Aldridge | 2028 | 5’1″ | PG | FBC West Coast

Outside of FBCs 17U championship team, there were a couple up and comers a part of FBCs 16U Squad. Amiya Aldridge displayed the skill set of a true point guard throughout the weekend. She briefed confidence, utilizing her quick first step, tight handle, and ability to change pace to create opportunities. Aldridge showed excellent court vision as a passer while also proving she can create her own shot when needed. She definitely has a very established game for a guard at her age.

16U | Flo Borchardt | 2028 | 6’1″ | F | FBC West Coast

Flo Borchardt brings a valuable combination of size, length, and shooting ability to FBC West Coast 16U. At 6’1″, she uses her length to shoot over top of defenders and is a very strong perimeter shooter. Borchardt is also a reliable finisher around the rim and does an excellent job getting ahead in transition for easy scoring opportunities.
