Game Notes: Kickapoo vs Springfield Central
BY:Kyle Unruh
In the latest MBCA 6A State Rankings Kickapoo was 2nd and Central was 4th. So this was a much-anticipated matchup not just in SWMO but across the state. Central came out and was able to take an 11-pt. lead into intermission. Keion Epps and Tyrique Brooks doing most of the damage. In the 3rd qtr, they extended their lead to 19pts. And it looked like they were going to run away with it. Devin Stanford made 3 long balls in that quarter. Kickapoo didn’t lay down and at one point in the 4th qtr. got it to 8. But the Bulldogs made their free throws down the stretch for the final margin. Both teams are well-coached, talented, and contenders for the 6A crown come March.
